Danielle Simone Burren-Charles
Hi! I'm Danielle. I'm a maker: I photograph, I paint, I design, I install and I illustrate.
I like to keep things simple; I like real love, neutral colors and strong lines.
I love a lot things, including but not limited to: film photography, traveling, volunteering, chocolate, trying to dunk on my v tall husband, painting, my pup, science fiction/Ender's Game, laughing till I cry, and down to earth humans.
I have photographed weddings for over 11 years, and started working as an assistant wedding photographer in a studio in Wisconsin. When I realized super-posey studio photography wasn't for me, I went off on my own and 9 years later, I'm living a dream life of working as a full-time photographer + maker. No matter what avenue I work in, I am always drawn to the honest, candid, knee-smack laughing moments.
I feel so lucky to have a job I'm passionate about, and to meet awesome people who are in love, while doing what I love.
For a more textbook description / for the "Artist Bio" one must always write to please a museum crowd . . .

I love to capture the natural moments as they progress through the day; the real emotion, the true colors, the big and little moments. I love to see honest love and kindness shared among couples, families, friends and the celebration of all who attend the wedding!
If you are a couple I work with, I want you to live your life naturally on your wedding day, while I quietly seek moments of honest emotion in the background, as well as direct large or small groups of family and friends in a lively and efficient manner - so as to not slow down your day with hours of group photography. I never put down my camera throughout the entirety of a wedding day (I eat dinner with it in my hand, it's weird sometimes. . just ignore it), and many past clients have attested to that. I really love my job and meeting the people that comes with working as a wedding photographer, and I am happy to say that most of my past clients become my friends (who sometimes call me up when babies come around too!).
I'm open to anything on a wedding day, whether it be photoshopping a romantic image of a couple with a fading image in the background, photoshopping you fighting to get your weddings rings back from Golem's Lord of the Rings, running away from carnivorous Dinosaurs, or simply just hanging out with the Star Wars crew on any of your favorite spacecraft (Ebon Hawk, anyone?).
That being said, I also really like to keep it simple. I don't do a ton of blogging or getting wrapped up in the wedding industry. I'm there on your wedding day to photograph these intimate moments for you, and I'd rather let you decide whether or not you'd like to paste them all over a magazine or not. I'm totally open to the idea of photography features in wedding magazines - don't get me wrong! However, I'd rather have that happen at the full consent of the couple, whereas it is their day and their right to share one of the most special days of their lives, only if they see fit. I do love me some instagram, though - if there is one thing I will do, it's post moments of photography on instagram, likely because I feel it's somewhat of a more intimate crowd of people, anyway (but that's probably going to change, who am I kidding? Ha.)
